The average weekly price of US Apple as of October 29 decreased by 3.0% M-O-M and rose by 20.4% Y-O-Y to $0.74/lb. According to USDA data, the 2025 US apple crop is set to be among the largest in recent years. Total production is forecast at 11.5 billion pounds, a 6% y-o-y increase, despite issues with adverse weather and labor shortages earlier in the season. Exports remain firm, with the country shipping 25% of its total fresh production overseas.

The average weekly price of US Banana as of October 22, decreased by 9.6% M-O-M and declined by 3.4% Y-O-Y to $0.53/lb. Bananas remain Panama’s top export, representing 17.5% of total foreign sales in the first quarter of 2025. Overall banana supply remains stable, and the banana market has seen more activity as some buyers look to contract their volumes. Chiquita Panama is restarting operations, signaling a long-awaited revival after a crippling strike brought the region’s production to a standstill. Government officials expect banana exports to resume between December 2025 and January 2026.
