Expana's US Easter Index 2026 comprises three sub-indices:
The PROTEIN INDEX covers a selection of meats, fish and eggs, representing an Easter main course.
The CHOCOLATE INDEX covers the main ingredients used to produce chocolate Easter eggs.
The BAKERY INDEX covers ingredients used to produce pastries and other baked goods consumed over the Easter period.
Expana’s US Easter Index
The overall index fell by 7.18% year-over-year (YOY), driven by sharp declines in the chocolate and bakery indices, which dropped 40.85% YOY and 14.70% YOY, respectively. The US Easter Protein Index, which includes the traditional centerpiece items, declined only slightly, falling 0.77% YOY.
